Therapy

  • Liebscher & Bracht Pain Therapy

The basis for the effectiveness of Liebscher & Bracht pain therapy is the recognition that it is not wear and tear or damage that causes the pain, but faulty tension in fascia and muscles.

90% of our patients go home pain-free or with considerably less pain - without medication or surgery.

Tense, shortened muscles, such as those caused by one-sided use, trigger reaction patterns in the brain, which subsequently manifest themselves as pain and blockages in muscles and fasciae. Liebscher & Bracht pain therapy uses pain as a signal and, with the help of therapeutic osteopressor technology, sets manual impulses directly on the bone. They command the brain to reorganise the movement sequences, to "let go" of the pain and to create space again for optimal function and movement. To overcome the pain, we rely on bottleneck stretching and fascial roll massages, which are also taught during therapy.

You can find more information on the homepage of Liebscher & Bracht: www.Liebscher-Bracht.com

  • Physiotherapy

We will help you to be able to cope with your everyday life, job or leisure activities independently as quickly as possible.

We use various methods to treat illnesses, injuries or congenital disorders of the musculoskeletal system that restrict your daily life at home, at work or during sports. The human being is in the foreground for us: in relation to activities, this means that we put together a concept of the most efficient and gentlest therapy individually - tailored to each patient. The reduction of your complaints and, in the course of the treatment, the complete recovery of your performance are our goals.

The long-term management of orthopaedic problems, chronic pain or long-term movement restrictions is usually achieved through physiotherapy, but requires patience and further active therapeutic measures. If necessary, we will provide you with exercises as part of the therapy as a home exercise programme that you can integrate into your everyday life, or other activities within the scope of your possibilities.

  • Temporomandibular Joint Therapy

Headaches, neck problems, nightly biting or crunching, as well as ringing in the ears and difficulty swallowing are common symptoms of jaw and masticatory muscle disorders. Not infrequently, numbness or pain in the facial nerve is also common. The complaints often last for weeks and months, the suffering is immense, as concentration suffers and sleeping is no longer restful.

The joints between the head and the cervical spine directly influence the movements in the temporomandibular joint. Pain is caused by overloading of the muscle and fascial system. The neck is tense and painful conditions also arise there.

The therapist uses manual techniques to loosen adhesions in the tissue. Active stretching helps the muscles to relax again. Special exercises for strengthening stabilize the cervical spine and can thus reduce protective tensions.

To achieve a lasting reduction in pain, it is necessary to regularly carry out an individually designed self-exercise programme, which is taught during therapy.

  • Neurotherapy

Nervous and brain diseases have an influence on our movement system. A lack of strength and coordination leads to less and less activity in the lives of those affected. The exact analysis of the movement sequences decides which specific techniques are used. These include special strength training, nerve mobilisation, increasing blood circulation in regions with too little movement or coordination exercises.

The aim of our therapy is always to improve the quality of life so that those affected can become more active again.

To achieve this, it is necessary to primarily perform active exercises, which we teach in our therapy. Daily activity is helpful to counteract the breakdown of muscles and functional tissue.

In the therapy of neurological patients, we rely on the therapeutic strategies Neuroorthopedic Activity-Dependent Plasticity (N.A.P.®), Bobath and Proprioceptive Neuromuscular Facilitation (PNF).

  • Manual Dysphagia Therapy

If the medication can no longer be swallowed properly, people affected swallow more often or their voice changes, this indicates a swallowing disorder. Over time, the symptoms increase significantly, especially patients with Parkinson's disease or a stroke suffer more and more.

Swallowing disorders occur not only in many neurological diseases, but also in surgical and oncological events.

Swallowing disorders are consequences of various diseases and always lead to a significant reduction in quality of life.

The mechanics of chewing, swallowing and the voice are disturbed. The connective tissue of the tongue, throat and larynx is then shortened. Liquids or food gets into the lungs instead of the stomach. The consequences can then be severe pneumonia or malnutrition.

With the help of special grips on the structures responsible for swallowing, manual swallowing therapy promotes the elasticity of the muscles and tissues in the mouth, throat and throat area. The stabilization of the cervical spine is also part of the therapy.

  • Incontinence Therapy

In the German-speaking world, most people are inhibited from talking about their bladder and/or bowel weakness, although it is a considerable burden for those affected when they are no longer able to hold urine or stool. We talk about it. Because it is important to you, we will get to the bottom of the cause of your symptoms with you.

We differentiate between pelvic floor weakness, which is caused by aging, and muscle weakness due to neurological diseases, which also affects the sphincters. In both cases, functional electrostimulation in combination with self-training is a way to gain more control. During a first appointment together we will explain the devices and procedures of our incontinence therapy. During a second appointment, we will use pressure and measuring probes, which are used vaginally or rectally, to determine the current status of your pelvic floor muscles. First test stimulations are also carried out. In our experience, an additional ten half-hour therapy sessions with pelvic floor electrostimulation are necessary to achieve changes in muscle strength. We document the results so that you and your attending physician can follow the progress of the therapy.

  • Lymphdrainage

After operations, cancer or hereditary diseases, the lymphatic system, which is responsible for the removal of excess fluid in the body, is quickly overtaxed. The resulting swellings, wherever they occur, often have a considerable impact on the everyday life of the people suffering from them.

Both acute and chronic water retention should be treated immediately: After a medical examination, regular treatment is carried out with special extremely gentle hand movements in the affected area. Manual lymphatic drainage, compression bandaging or stocking therapy, skin care as well as activity therapy can be combined to form the Complex Physical Decongestion Therapy and usually require a positive therapy result.
